Manage connections

A connection is one ad account Ledion sends to: a Google Ads customer ID, a Meta dataset, a Microsoft Ads account or a Reddit pixel. They all live on Ledion’s Connections page, one card each.

Add a connection

  1. In Ledion, open Connections and click Add connection.
  2. Under Network, pick Google Ads (beta), Meta, Microsoft Ads or Reddit.
  3. Fill in that network’s fields. Each network has its own page with the steps: Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Ads, Reddit. The form’s How to get these link opens the same page.
  4. Check Sending to [Network]. It says: “I want Ledion to send [Network] each conversion my workflows send: the record’s value, its ad click IDs, and hashed contact details such as email and phone.” Ledion doesn’t connect a network without it.
  5. Click Connect [Network]. For Microsoft Ads, click Connect Microsoft, finish signing in on the tab that opens, then come back and click I’ve connected, refresh.

Ledion checks the details with the network before it saves them. When that works, the page says “[Network] is connected.” Meta and Reddit sometimes don’t let Ledion check: then it says “Saved. [Network] didn’t let Ledion check it, so the first send will.” Watch Activity after the first send.

Then create a conversion: a connection on its own sends nothing.

One network on Free and Starter

Free and Starter include one network, and Pro and Scale include all of them. The 14-day trial is Pro. On a one-network plan you can connect as many accounts of that network as you like, say two Meta datasets. Connecting a second network shows “Your plan includes 1 network. Upgrade to send to [Network].” with an Open Plan link. Plan and billing has the plans.

When a plan with all networks ends (the trial, or a downgrade), the network you connected first keeps sending. Conversions skip the others, and their result is not_configured. Their cards say Not in plan and name the network your plan sends to, and the Plan page shows it too (“Includes 1 network: Meta”).

What each status means

Each card shows the network, the account, a status, when Ledion last sent to it (“Last sent [date]”, or “Nothing sent yet”) and the last error if there is one.

Status What it means What to do
Active Ledion sends to it. Nothing.
Pick an account You signed in with Microsoft, but haven’t picked the ad account yet. Pick it under Account and click Use this account.
Needs reconnect The network stopped accepting Ledion’s credentials. Sends to it fail with “[Network] connection needs reconnecting.” Click Reconnect (below).
Error The latest send to this account failed. The card shows “Last error: [message]”. Look the message up in Troubleshooting.
Off You removed it, and Ledion deleted its credentials. Connect the same account again (below).
Not in plan Your plan sends to one network, and this account is on another. The card says “Your plan sends to [Network] only. Upgrade to use more networks.” Nothing is sent to it. Upgrade from Open Plan, or remove it.

Reconnect

When a network stops accepting Ledion’s credentials (a token revoked or expired, a password change, access removed), the card says Needs reconnect and Ledion emails your alert recipients, at most once a day per connection. Click Reconnect on the card. It opens the same form, for the same account:

  • Google Ads (beta): make sure Ledion’s email is still a user on the Google Ads account (or its manager account). The customer ID and manager ID are already filled in.
  • Meta: generate a new access token in Events Manager and paste it with the same dataset ID.
  • Reddit: generate a new conversion access token and paste it with the same pixel ID.
  • Microsoft Ads: click Connect Microsoft, sign in again, then pick the account. The one you had is already selected.

The connection keeps its conversions. Then, in Activity, click Retry failed sends to resend what failed while it was broken, from the last 7 days.

Test settings

Send test uses a test value so its events don’t count as real: the Test events code for Meta, the Test ID for Reddit. You can add one when you connect, or later: click Test settings on the card, paste it and click Save. Ledion doesn’t show a saved one again. The form says “One is saved.” when there is one, and saving the field empty removes it. No new access token needed.

Remove a connection

Click Remove on the card, then Yes, remove. Ledion deletes the saved credentials at once and stops sending to that account. Conversions that use it skip that network from then on, and their result for it is not_configured. If a conversion sent only there, the step reports “No connected networks for this conversion.”

Removing it in Ledion doesn’t remove Ledion’s access on the network’s side. Disconnect and uninstall says how to do that too.

Turn a removed connection back on

Connect the same account again, with Add connection: the same customer ID, dataset, pixel or Microsoft account. Ledion reuses the card. Its conversions don’t send there again until you check that account under Send to in each conversion and save.

One HubSpot account per Google Ads account

During the beta, the first HubSpot account to connect a Google Ads customer ID owns it. Another HubSpot account that tries gets “Google Ads account [customer ID] is already connected to another HubSpot account. If it’s yours, email santi@ledion.io.” Once the first one removes it, anyone can connect it.
